What are the process subjected to donated blood?

All blood donations are subjected to screening tests in world standards. Today, none of the tests which are used in screening blood-borne diseases have 100% diagnostic precision. Such screening tests are performed to protect the health of the recipient of the blood. For diseases such as AIDS and hepatitis which are both blood-borne and sexually transmitted, there is an undiagnosable window period from the transmission of disease until it is tested positive in the tests. Although the test results of the individual during this window period look clear, there is still a risk of transmission to another person. Therefore, your honest and sincere answers to the questions on the form is as important as the screening tests, if not more. If you are tempted to donate blood just to find out the result of a suspicion you have, please be discouraged to do so!
The tests performed on the donated blood:
1. Anti-HIV test (AIDS)
2. Anti-HCV test (Hepatitis C)
3. HBsAg test (Hepatitis B)
4. Syphilis
5. Blood group tests (ABO, RhD, sub-group tests as needed)
All blood donated are subject to these tests. If the results are negative (lack of infection) there is no feedback given to the donor. If there are positive results, additional verification tests are given. In cases where they too are positive, you are invited to the blood center for a faceto face interview with the doctor. Following the meeting, you are directed to a medical institution where you will receive consultation, monitoring an treatment. All of these processes are guided by confidentiality and respect to personal life.
